Chinese Carved Jade Clasp

Item Details

A Qing dynasty (1644-1911) Chinese carved jade two-part clasp. There is a girl on one half of the oval form and a boy on the other piece. The two can be linked together by a delicate clasp in the center. The two figures are on a reticulated floral background. The stone is a white jade with some feint areas of russet. Accession number was 1938.0047.

Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
