Archaistic Chinese Jadeite and Gilt Bronze Belt Buckle

A late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) archaistic Chinese brass and jadeite two-piece belt buckle. This buckle has two equal sized pieces each with a framed rectangular carved pieces of jadeite. The clasp is cast to resemble a lingzhi mushroom, a popular symbol of longevity. The stone is a fine translucent white with feint traces of emerald, and is finely carved to reveal archaic scrollwork. 1938.0003 A&B
