N. Shevlin Original Vintage Graphite Portrait Study
Item Details
An original graphite drawing on thin wove paper by an artist named N. Shevlin, circa mid-20th century. The drawing depicts a stunning portrait study of a woman, seated stoically against a minimalist background. Her face and hands are drawn with pronounced angles and textured fields of fuzzy cross-hatching, while the rest of her body is created in more minimal linework that leaves room for ambiguity and imagination. The drawing is signed to the lower left. It is matted in white and presented behind glass in a natural-stained wooden frame with a hanging wire to the verso.
