Joseph Demarais Signed Limited Edition Aquatint Etching

A signed limited edition etching with areas of aquatint etching and a la poupée coloring on wove paper by listed American artist Joseph Demarais (1927 – 1971). Demarais etched copper, zinc, masonite and acetate to achieve these highly-textural surfaces. This print depicts a woman with her head hung low into her hands. The print is signed to the lower right by both Demarais and his wife, Anne, who does the printing for Joseph. The print is numbered 47/100 in pencil to the lower left. It is double-matted in white and metallic gold tone and is presented behind glass in a rose gold tone metal frame with a hanging wire.
