A lithograph after William Allen Rogers, titled The Cue For the Transformation Scene. This print on paper, which was created for the Puck Magazine, depicts a political cartoon of two armored women shaking hands over reptilian creatures and visibly shocked men topped with hats denoting them as representations of the British and Irish. They stand on a pier that overlooks what is labeled as the World’s Fair in Chicago, 1893. To the lower left corner of the composition is an in plate signature, as well as a printed title below. The print is presented under glass beneath dual-layered matting in a cream colored wooden vase with moulded motifs to the surface. To the verso is affixed hanging wire.
Condition
- minor scratches on frame; slight discoloration to print; glass could benefit from cleaning; backing paper worn and torn to edges and corners.
