A vintage Maitland Smith English Regency style book desk. Included is a handsome vintage writing desk from fine furniture makers Maitland Smith. The hardwood desk is covered with a mahogany colored embossed leather. The tabletop is designed to resemble a stack of leather embossed and gilt books. It features two drawers along the ‘spine’ of the books and the drawers are lined with marbled paper. The trestle base has two curved ‘U’ shaped legs with brass claw feet. It is marked on the interior of one drawer ‘Maitland-Smith’.
