An oil painting on canvas titled Chenonceau Loire Valley by listed American artist William Benecke (1934-2001). Depicted is a view of Château de Chenonceau, a French château that spans the River Cher. The view of château rendered with a well-kept garden. Signed to the lower right in graphite. W.T. Burger label and description present to verso. The work remains unframed.

William Benecke was born in 1934 in Chicago, Illinois and had his formal art training at the Art Institute of Chicago. He worked as an illustrator for several major studios in Chicago and also worked as a staff illustrator for the Chicago Tribune and the Sun Times. When he was 24, he traveled to Mexico and lived there for ten years during which time he painting and running his own gallery. He is known for his landscapes, garden scenes and portraits.
