An oil painting on canvas by well-listed American artist Edgar Yeager (1904-1997), created in 1988. This painting depicts a nude wearing a bright red head scarf seated near a window. This piece is signed and dated in paint in the lower left center. Presented unframed.
Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
