Gouache Painting on Papyrus of Queen Nefertari and Hathor
Item Details
A gouache painting on papyrus of the Egyptian Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor. This piece, with iridescent paint laid over fine black lines, depicts the two figures hand in hand. There are lines of Egyptian hieroglyphic lettering around the subjects, and a cartouche between them. The piece is presented behind glass in a gold tone frame with a black ground and hanging hardware to the verso.
Condition
- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; papyrus is bent and wrinkled.
