Don Werner Ink on Paper Landscape

An ink drawing on paper of a landscape by listed artist Don Werner (American, 1929 – 2010). The work depicts a grouping of several buildings with foliage to the foreground. Signed to the right in graphite. To the verso an inscription reads ‘Brook F117’ on the frame in graphite. Presented mounted on a white frame under glass in a tan frame.

Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.

Condition

- some wear around edges of frame; discoloration to protective cover to the verso; glass could benefit from a cleaning; work has shifted from mounting.
