Handmade Needlepoint Aubusson-Style Area Rug

A handmade needlepoint rug. This wool Aubusson-style area rug is rendered in a palette of mauve and shades of pink. It features a floral design in six octagonal panels. The panels are separated by octagonal medallions, partial medallions, and borders that contain scrolling detail and tulips. Framing the field is an unembellished outer border. Edges are finished with a fabric guard strip on the underside. The rug is untagged.

Condition
