Knights of Pythias Watch Fob and ΔΤΚ Lamp of Knowledge Medals

Item Details

A group with two gold tone medals, with one Knights of Pythias watch fob, and one 1/20 10K gold filled school pin award medal. The Knights of Pythias is a fraternal organization that was founded by Justus H. Rathbone in 1864, finding inspiration in a tale by John Banim about the legend of Damon and Pythias, illustrating loyalty, honor, and friendship (ideals central to the mission of the order). The cruciform metal features an enameled FCB emblem, an abbreviation for the Pythian motto, ‘Friendship, Charity, Benevolence’, and has black glass inlay to the cross. It also depicts crossed swords (when a man was inducted into the Knights of Pythias, he received a ceremonial sword), a knight’s helmet, and the skull and crossbones. The reverse side depicts a sword and bible. The pendant is affixed to a fob with three rows of curb link chains. The Delta, Tau, Kappa (ΔΤΚ) school pin medal depicts the lamp of knowledge on a scroll. The lamp of knowledge is a sacred symbol of life, and is often used in medical-related fields.
