Folk Art Watercolor Painting of Eden Park, Cincinnati, 1895
Item Details
A charming folk art painting done in opaque watercolor to illustrate a festive day in Eden Park, 1895. The gazebo is featured with a big brass band and fanfare, the strolling parade and onlookers appear to be dressed in finery. The painting is done in an amateur manner which lends to it’s appeal, signed in the lower left E.J.Timmer, 1912 and titled in the center Eden Park 1895. An old label affixed to the back indicates the painting was shown at an exhibit at the Highland Towers. The painting is professionally presented under glass in a wide antiqued gold wood frame.
