1965 Cortland Butterfield Limited Edition Offset Lithograph "Man at Desk"
Item Details
A signed limited edition offset lithograph on paper after an original piece titled Man at Desk by Cortland Butterfield (1904 – 1977). This print depicts a man at work drawing at a desk surrounded by paper sand other objects. The piece is numbered seventy-five in an edition of 200, dated 1965 and signed by hand in ink to the lower left. A signature in plate is also present to the lower right corner. The title of the piece is present in graphite to verso of the print. Butterfield, a figural painter, studied at the Cooper-Union Art School, the Art Students League, and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Montclair Art Museum.
