1988 All-Star Game Volunteer's Collection
Item Details
An assortment of 1988 Major League Baseball (MLB) Game items. The All-Star game depends on volunteers from the host city, in this case, Cincinnati, to assist visitors, out-of-towners, as well as natives with directions to the events and the stadium. Most of the items have the 1988 All-Star MLB logo. The items are as listed: a blue necktie made by Cervantes; a cloth handkerchief that has a white base with red and blue stars and the All-Star logo; two ‘Hospitality’ pinbacks with ribbons; two cloth patches (never used); two unused decals, still affixed to their paper backing; the volunteers picture pass; and a folder full of ephemera. The folder has two letters from Marge Schott, which were sent after the event was over, thanking the ‘All-Star Volunteer’ for working the game; a form letter from MLB, two ticket stubs to the game; a small booklet about transportation; a newpaper clip of the starting players; a Greater Cincinnati Official Visitors Guide booklet; a Greater Cincinnati Vistors Map; a small card that is titled ‘1988 All-Star Game Medical Hotline Procedure’ and a red envelope that has a ticket stub to a Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers concert. The red envelope was autographed on the outside by the Brewers manager Tom Trebelhorn and then Baltimore Sun writer Ken Rosenthal. The signatures have not been authenticated.
