A super charming Art Deco (1920’s) machinist art aluminum frame by Palmer Smith. The 8′ × 10′ stepped border frame is flanked by stylized bunnies at the flat, rectangular base with ball feet. The frame is stamped to the underside ‘Palmer Smith’.
Arthur Palmer started his own metal ware business in 1935 in Grove City, PA., ‘Palmer-Smith’ was believed to be a combination of his own and his mother’s maiden name. His hand hammered aluminum gift ware was considered to have simple motifs, top-notch materials and flawless finishes making them popular among collectors.
