Ornately decorated veneer facing features beautiful book-matched burl on slanted top making this mid 19th century Victorian maple fall front secretary a real stand out. Drawers have dove-tail construction with birds-eye maple bottoms. Engraved brass bails, bun feet on casters, and lovely applied carved decoration also enhance the beauty of this piece. Slanted top secretary drops down to reveal a fitted interior with a row of valanced pigeon holes, the two lower cabinet doors with beautifully carved panels with a flower and leaf detail. Body of desk has four middle drawers and two bottom side opening doors. Key (included) opens drawers that do not have bails.

Condition

Top keyhole fitting has come loose, but is present. Inside the drawers there are a few stains. Some scratches to surface of pull-down writing surface and inside the cubby holes there are a few ink stains.
