A 2010 Royal Canadian Mint gold and silver Piedfort maple leaf coin set. This pair of ‘Piedfort’ coins, named after a traditional typed of extra thick French coin, includes a one ounce five-dollar silver coin and a 1/5th ounce ten-dollar gold coin, both encapsulated and presented inside a red box. Each coin features a depiction of Queen Elizabeth looking right, designed by Susanna Blunt, on the obverse; and a depiction of a maple leaf, designed by The Royal Canadian Mint, on the reverse. Composition of silver coin is 99.9%. Diameter approximately 34 mm, weight approximately 31.30 grams. Composition of gold coin is 99.9%. Diameter approximately 16 mm, weight approximately 6.25 grams.
