1986 Mexican One Onza Libertad Silver Proof Coin

A 1986 Mexican silver Libertad proof. The obverse of the coin features the National Seal of Mexico, depicting an eagle with a serpent in its beak symbolizing Tenochtitlan where Mexico City was founded, with the official name for Mexico in Spanish “Estados Unidos Mexicanos” arching over the eagle. The reverse portrays the Angel of Independence, a historic monument for the Mexican people and a symbol of Mexico City, and the Mexican volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. The coin is 99.9% silver. Approximate diameter 36 mm; approximate weight 31.10 grams. Presented in a blue velvet lined box with a certificate of authenticity marking the coin number 23819. Condition: Very good.
