1930s Hand-Knotted Persian "Archaeological Pictorial" Kashmar Area Rug

A 1930s hand-knotted Persian Archaeological Pictorial Kashmar area rug. This sizable rug displays an elegant central floral medallion in a palette of cream, red, powder blue, navy and brown upon a sand toned ground accented with several flower blossoms. The medallion is encompassed by a compact pictorial field of flowers, foliage, vines and vessels in coordinating colors and symmetry. The rug has an extensive alternating compound border of vessels and bird imagery with flowers growing throughout. The rug is complete with tan hued selvedge and natural warp fringe to either end. There is a tag attached to the reverse which reads ‘Hand Woven Carpet & Rug, Hand Made in Iran’.
