A vintage orifginal 1940 mezzotint with a la poupée coloring, signed in pencil to the lower right by artist E. Wardee, published by Frost & Reed, Ltd., of Bristol, England. The image depicts a rendered Baroque cartouche encircling a Victorian era scene of a young man gifting a young woman a bird in a beautiful cage. She sits in the grass next accompanied by two young goats in front of a picturesque lake. Printer’s blind stamp is embossed to the lower left. This print is presented behind off-white mat with French lines, set under glass in a fine carved Arts & Crafts wood frame with a gilt finish, equipped to hang.
