Vintage Chinese Hand-Painted Boxes
Item Details
A pair of hand-painted Chinese wood boxes. These boxes are covered and stitched with fabric which has been painted over with traditional Chinese motifs. The red box has a gilt mythological beast to the top and front with clouds and floral designs and a brass tone latch and handles. The larger box is hand-painted with courtyard scenes, trees, and flower with an etched brass tone latch and handles.
Condition
- to fair. Some wear to paint. Red box has chips to fabric covering and paint.
