A vintage machine-woven Belgian area rug. This rug, circa 1950, features a Persian-inspired design in black, cream, and vermillion. It has a compound border and four spandrels on a black background with a central field of arabesque and palmette designs on a cream background. It has a sewn-on fringe to either end. It is unmarked to the reverse.
