An antique hand-knotted Persian Zanjan area rug. This rug features a central gul medallion outlined with a crenulation pattern in hues of rose, blue, sand and cream atop a navy ground. The medallion is enhanced by a compact floral and foliate pattern on a rose toned field expanding to sand and navy spandrels. The compound border boasts a geometric design highlighted by natural warp fringe to either end. The rug is unmarked.
