Early 19th Century Oil on Board Landscape
Item Details
An antique oil painting on board by an anonymous artist. This idyllic landscape depicts two figures standing upon a path in the foreground, beside a tall stone castle and medieval hamlet, on a bluff above a wide lake. A waterfall is visible on the further side beside Romanesque buildings, as a verdant plain spreads before distant mountains rising against the clouding blue sky. This work is unsigned, and presented within a gilt wooden frame, wired for hanging.

- fair; some overall significant scratches to the surface of both the painting and the frame.
