A hand-knotted Afghani Turkoman Soumak area rug. This rug features a sienna brown center medallion encompassed by geometrical imagery in a palette of burgundy, green, and dark blue on a tan field. The rug has a coordinating floral and stripe patterned compound border ending with dark brown selvedge. The rug has a striped flat weave finished with natural warp fringe to either end. The rug is unmarked.
