A hand-knotted Persian Kashan salesman rug sample. This piece is a salesman sample corner of a rug displaying a quarter of a medallion in a palette of navy, sand, burgundy, blue and olive green upon a floral patterned field. The design extends to an alternating floral patterned compound border, burgundy selvedge on two sides and natural warp fringe on the other two sides. The piece is unmarked.
