A circa 1940s hand-knotted Persian Heriz Karachi area rug. This area rug features an elaborate central medallion in shades of scarlet, sand, blue, marmalade and brown upon a vine patterned scarlet ground. The rug has a wide compound border with ribbon and daisy patterned throughout in a coordinating color scheme. The area rug is finished with natural warp fringe to either end and is unmarked.
