A mixed media collage consisting of watercolor and photographs titled Kabuki by listed artist Don Werner (American, 1929 – 2010). The work depicts an abstract composition with curved organic shape and a variety of color. Signed in graphite to the bottom left. To the verso, a gallery label with the title is adhered. Presented in a white mat under glass in a metal frame.
Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.
