A watercolor painting on paper by listed artist and photographer Don Werner (1929-2010), created in 1970. This painting features an abstract composition of bold, swaths of color converging on a center point intensified by deep, black ink. It is signed and dated in graphite to the lower right corner. This painting is matted and presented in a gilt, wood frame under glass.

Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.

- painting has shifted under matting; foxing to mat and paper; areas of mildew under glass; water mark to lower right corner of mat; frame is coming loose at edges; glass sits loose in frame; slight warping to paper; fitted with wire hanging to the verso.
