A graphite drawing on paper of a residential area by listed artist Don Werner (American, 1929 – 2010). The work depicts several homes with trees and a sloped roadway using a variety of line weight in a gestural way. Signed in graphite to the bottom right corner. Presented mounted on an off white mat and in a wooden frame.
Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.
