A 1995-1996 digital photo collage on paper by Don Werner (American, 1929-2010). Depicted is a colorful abstract composition consisting of manipulated digital photos, watercolor painting, and black and white photos on translucent ground. Artist’s signature present to upper right corner of piece. Presented matted under acrylic glass in a wooden frame with wire hanger to verso.

Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.
