A mixed media collage titled ‘Collage No. XI’ by listed artist and photographer Don Werner (1929-2010), created in 1997. This work depicts an eye catching, abstract collage rendered with watercolors, textured paper, and an array of different prints. It is signed and dated in ink to the lower left corner. Additional artist labels attached to the verso, including hand inscribed label with a second illegible title. This work is matted and presented in a painted wood frame under plexiglass.
Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.

- scratches and marks to plexiglass; chipping and wear to frame; warping to paper; punctures to paper on the verso; glass could benefit from being cleaned; fitted with a wire hanging to the verso.
