A carved Italian throne chair with Donghia cut velvet upholstery This armchair features an upholstered camel shaped back and upholstered seat. The upholstery is an ivory woven textile with a cut velvet foliate pattern to it, in a charcoal gray color. The chair features curved arms with acanthus leaf carvings that end in a floral motif. The four legs are turned, and are supported by an H-stretcher. The two front legs are braced with a decorative carved and pierced stretcher and finished with claw feet. This beautiful chair goes with out any maker’s marks.

Condition

Condition is consistent with age and shows sign of fading to the upholstery and scratches and scuffs to the wooden frame.
