Item Details
A Haviland oyster plate from Rutherford B. Hayes’ White House service. The porcelain plate, designed in 1880, features royal blue, olive green and gold tone enamel detailing. There are five white welled oyster sections with metallic gold tone edges on each. The back of the plate is marked under an eagles crest to the outer rim reading, ‘Fabrique Par Haviland & Co. d’apres les dessins De Mrs. R. Davis’ and ‘Design patented August 10th 1880’.
