A large vintage handwoven Persian Maharaja Bakhtiari wool area rug. The rug’s center field features a bold grid pattern with various floral and foliate motifs in a colorful palette of cinnamon, salmon, bright blue, yellow ochre, forest green, and cream. The rug has a compound border with a russet colored foliated field in a similar palette of warm vegetable tones. The outer geometric guard border is accented with a short cream colored fringe.
