An original oil painting on canvas titled Light Upon the Room by contemporary Brazilian artist Fernando de Jesus Olivera, also known as Ferjo (b. 1946). Ferjo is reknowned for his surrealist paintings that often include room interiors filled with butterflies, floating objects, and stylized famous paintings, all done in a bold palette. His paintings create interesting paradoxical scenes where fantasy meets reality. In this work, the interior view is looking toward the open front door, with a staircase to the left, stylized paintings on the walls, a butterfly floats overhead. Egg shells, an angelfish, and a pencil float in the foreground. Signed to the lower right corner, the work is presented in a custom frame and includes a certificate of authenticity.
