A pair of hand colored lithographs on paper by French painter and lithographer Jean Victor Adam (1801–1867), from the Chevaux de Races de tous pays series. Titled Promenade du Matin (Chevaux Normands) and Promenade du Soir (Chevaux Espagnols) each depicts two mounted riders, in elaborate specific dress, rising across a nondescript countryside, with other riders visible in the distance. Each is signed within the plate to the lower left, and presented under glass in black wooden frames that are wired for hanging.
Condition
- toning to both; scratches and wear to frames; Promenade du Soir has stains to the lower right, foxing to upper right corner and to center of left side; Promenade du Matin has debris under glass and scattered foxing.
