Pair of Johann Elias Ridinger Restrike Engravings

A pair of 20th century restrike engravings after German artist Johann Elias Ridinger (1695 – 1767). These two pieces each feature a figure on the back of a rearing horse and appear to be hand-colored. The title of each piece is printed to the center of their lower margins – Palotaden Rechts and Der Galop Gerad aus Lincks. Each print has ‘avec P.S.C.M’ and ‘Joh. El. Ridinger inv. des et excud. A. V’ printed respectively to their lower left and right corners. They are presented behind glass in black and gold tone frames and have wires to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- adhesive and sticker residue to the lower right of glass on each; worn frame finish to each; torn paper backing.
