Two Framed Animal Portraits

A set of two framed animal portraits. Featured is an oil painting on board depicting a chipmunk standing in side profile on a tree stump. The piece is signed in brown paint to the lower right with a signature that appears to read ‘Gadōōn ’71’; however, no clear artist attribution could be made. It is presented in a rustic wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso. Also featured is an offset lithograph on board after a 1976 painting by Phil Prentice. The image depicts a baby leopard in hues of yellow, brown, black, white, cream and green. It is signed and dated in plate to the lower right and presented in a brown wooden frame with gold tone trim.
Condition
- yellowing to varnish on chipmunk painting; wear and scratching to finish of both frames; paper backing torn to chipmunk painting frame; loose joints to leopard print frame; cardboard backing is loose inside leopard print frame; stains and markings to cardboard backing of leopard print frame.
