A watercolor painting on paper by artist Fay Burrows. The piece depicts a maritime landscape scene in light hues of blue, pink, yellow, mauve and red. The work is signed in black paint to the lower left. It is matted in brown and presented under glass in a wooden frame with gold tone gesso embellishments. The frame includes a hanging wire to the verso, as well as a label marked ‘an original composition’.
Condition
- ranges from Fair to Poor; foxing and toning to paper and mat; large sections of gesso molding are missing from the top and bottom edges of the frame; cracks and discoloration present to remaining gesso; rough edges to mat; scratching and wear to frame finish; frame would benefit from cleaning; frame does not have paper backing; damage and wear to frame verso; heavy wear to hanging wire.
