Hand Knotted Persian Kirman Wool Area Rug

Item Details

A hand knotted Persian wool on cotton area rug attributed to the Kirman region. It features a central medallion with pendants against a bold red lozenge field which is further adorned with floral sprays and arrangements. There are spandrels to the corners in white, blue, and red with acanthus leaves and flowers. Enclosing the field is a palmette border with two pairs of carnation guard borders. Either end of the rug finishes with a short cotton fringe. No labels to indicate a manufacturer.
