Hand Knotted Persian Hosseinabad Wool Area Rug

Item Details

A hand knotted Persian wool on cotton area rug attributed to the Hosseinabad region. There is an ivory diamond-shaped central medallion against a red lozenge field adorned with repeating herati motifs. To the corners are ivory spandrels with floral motifs. Enclosing the field, there is an ivory border with floral rosettes flanked by a pair of carnation guard borders. Either end finishes with a short cotton fringe.
