Michael Mazur Limited Edition Etching on Paper "Confirmation"

A limited edition etching on paper titled _Confirmation_by listed American artist Michael Mazur (1935-2009). This work features two separate etchings, each featuring sketchy portrayals of human bodies. The etching on the left features a frontal view of the body of a man dressed in a suit, without the head shown; the etching on the right features a back view of a nude human body, also omitting the head from the composition. The work is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right, numbered 44 out of an edition of 50 to the lower center, and titled to the lower left. It is presented under glass with white matting in a silver-tone metallic frame.

Michael Mazur was born in New York City and received his undergraduate art training from Amherst College and the Academia di Belle Arti in Florence. He completed a B.F.A. and M.F.A. at Yale’s School of Art and Architecture. He is known for his paintings of figures, landscapes, and genre scenes. Mazur’s work has been exhibited at numerous art institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts, the Stanford Museum of Art, and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, among others.

- minor scratches throughout frame and glass; paper remnants present in lower left corner under glass; minor scratches and marks to verso; frame is loose and needs securing.
