A collection of woodblocks on paper after ukiyo-e artist Toyohara Kunichika (豊原 国周, 1835-1900). Featured are four prints from a series titled Kunichika as a Small Boy. Included is a piece titled Treasured Child in which a Kunichika is depicted eating dango, a Japanese sweet rice dumpling. Child of Farmers depicts a man carrying Kunichika on his back looking back towards two ducks. Also included is a depiction of Kunichika having a nightmare as well as a scene of him bathing in a tub. Each print has several printed inscriptions including printed artist signatures.The works are presented unframed.
Condition
- some wear is present the edges of the papers; a crease is through the center of each piece.
