Framed Plaster "Grand Tour" Intaglios
Item Details
A collection of framed plaster ‘Grand Tour’ intaglio medallions. These reproductions medallions are typical of those brought back from Continental Grand Tours of the 19th century. They feature oval, circular, and rectangular designs with embossed imagery of Classical figures over an inscribed background. The artwork is presented behind glass in gold gilded frame with beveled edges and a felted back exterior.
Condition
- minor wear to frame finish; particularly around corners; orange residue of some kind found on four of the items.
