Hand Tiled Nephrite Jade Horse Sculpture

A hand carved nephrite jade horse sculpture. The body is constructed using nephrite jade tiles pieced together in a mosaic pattern. It has a carved mane, tail, and facial features with an ornate gold tone metal saddle accented by floral cloisonné embellishments and gold-tone mesh appliqués. The piece is unmarked.

Condition

Minor wear throughout; the enamel on the saddle is chipped; the metal shows some wear and dust, especially to the mesh. Some of the metal pieces are detached or missing; jade appears to be in good shape overall.
