Andrij Maday Original Signed Limited Edition Woodcut Print
Item Details
An original 1975 signed limited edition monochromatic woodcut on Japon paper by contemporary American ecclesiastical artist Andrij Maday (Ohio/Pennsylvania). The print depicts an erratic composition featuring several disfigured forms with icon-like halos behind their heads. The block has been carved with remarkable attention to detail, creating dense texture and pattern across the piece. The print is signed, dated, numbered 2/25, and labeled as a woodcut in pencil to the lower edge. It is matted in white and presented behind glass in a silver tone and black acrylic frame with a hanging wire. Maday graduated from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and has received twelve awards for woodcuts and drawings, including the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant. He has exhibited extensively across the United States and Canada.
