A hand-knotted Indo_Bakhtiari rug by Nourison from the ‘Star of India’ line. Made in India, this wool area rug is rendered in a pastel palette of pinks, blues, pale yellow, and greens. It features a lattice pattern of scalloped diamond shapes, each containing either a palmette and flowers or a flowering tree over different ground colors. Framing the field are four resolved borders, including a floral primary border over celadon and two meandering carnation guard borders. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short kilim skirts and ivory cotton warp fringe. It is marked on the reverse.
