A signed limited edition serigraph on paper by well-listed American Abstract Expressionist William Scharf (Philadelphia/New York; born 1927), titled Banana Dog. The image depicts a non-objective arrangement of curvy, organic violet, black and yellow forms interacting within the pictorial space. The print is numbered 56/160 and signed by the artist in pencil to the lower margin; mounted under white double mat, behind acryluc glass in a wood frame with glossy black veneer, equipped to hang. Scharf’s work is represented in the collections of numerous museums, including Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; Telfair Museum of Art; The Brooklyn Museum of Art; Mississippi Museum of Art; Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts; and the National Museum of American Art – Smithsonian, among many others.
